Jingtian & Gongcheng recently announced that veteran capital markets and M&A lawyer Lai Jianglin (赖江临) alongside partners Hu Yizhou (胡一舟) and Guo Zhongyong (郭钟泳) have officially joined its Guangzhou office. The team previously practiced at King & Wood Mallesons for an extensive period. The addition of these three partners will further consolidate the business footprint of Jingtian & Gongcheng in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area enhancing its comprehensive service capabilities in domestic and offshore securities issuance, M&A restructuring, private equity investment, and the rescue and crisis resolution of distressed listed companies.
Team lead partner Ms. Lai brings over 26 years of practice experience establishing herself as a veteran lawyer in domestic capital markets, M&A, and distressed enterprise resolution. Prior to joining Jingtian & Gongcheng she served as a partner at King & Wood Mallesons for over 16 years. Ms. Lai has led or participated in the restructuring, domestic and offshore IPOs, and M&A projects of over 100 large and medium-sized state-owned, private, and foreign-invested enterprises. Ms. Lai graduated from the Law School of Peking University with an LL.B. in Economic Law and International Economic Law.
Joining alongside her Ms. Hu is qualified to practice law in the PRC and New York State. She excels in the regulatory rules and practical execution of A-share and Hong Kong stock capital markets while long serving domestic and offshore investment institutions such as Sequoia Capital, Cathay Capital, Guangzhou Fund, GPHL Capital, and Tianyi Capital covering the full lifecycle of fund formation, equity investment, and exit. Ms. Hu holds an LL.B. from Sun Yat-sen University, an LL.M. in Private International Law from Wuhan University, and an LL.M. from Case Western Reserve University in the United States.
Ms. Guo focuses on securities issuance, major asset restructurings of listed companies, and M&A. She has led the SSE Main Board IPOs of JOVO Energy and Guangzhou Restaurant, the STAR Market IPO of Jiulian Technology, and the ChiNext IPOs of Golden Sea, Wahlap Technology, and Senior Material. Ms. Guo earned both her LL.B. and LL.M. from the Law School of Sun Yat-sen University.
The addition of the team led by Ms. Lai marks another significant lateral team hire by Jingtian & Gongcheng in the commercial practice arena recently.
