Global law firm Broadfield recently announced the appointment of Jonathan Crompton as a partner and Head of the Disputes Resolution and Investigations practice in Asia. Transitioning from RPC where he served as a Partner, Hong Kong Disputes Team Lead, and Head of Cyber Response for Asia, his arrival fills the leadership void left by the earlier departures of former Asia disputes head Fergus Saurin and partner Grace Zhu (朱亮) to White & Case alongside the move of investment funds partner Huberta Chow (周晓朗) to K&L Gates. This strategic addition restores top-tier leadership to the disputes practice of Broadfield during a critical regional expansion phase.
Mr. Crompton brings over 20 years of experience advising clients on complex cross-border disputes and investigations with more than 15 years based in Asia. His extensive practice spans litigation, international arbitration before the HKIAC and ICC, internal and regulatory investigations, financial services disputes, civil fraud, asset recovery, and fintech disputes. Furthermore he possesses profound expertise in cyber and data privacy matters having helped clients respond to more than 150 cyber incidents and their aftermath including recovering funds lost to cyber and other frauds. His high-profile clientele includes financial institutions, asset managers, hedge funds, senior executives, high-net-worth individuals, fintech companies, software providers, and online platforms. The investigative matters he handles frequently involve major regulatory bodies such as the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong (SFC), the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA), the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data of Hong Kong (PCPD), and the Personal Data Protection Commission of Singapore (PDPC).
