Leading global law firm Baker McKenzie recently announced that prominent disputes lawyer Justin Tang (邓英杰) has joined its Hong Kong office as a partner in the Dispute Resolution Practice. His arrival further strengthens the cross-border dispute resolution and arbitration capabilities of the firm in Greater China and across the Asia-Pacific region.
Joining from Linklaters, Mr. Tang brings more than 18 years of experience advising on China-related cross-border commercial disputes for private equity and credit funds, corporates, financial institutions, and state-owned enterprises. His practice spans international arbitration, commercial litigation, and insolvency-related matters across jurisdictions such as Hong Kong, mainland China, Singapore, and the British Virgin Islands.
Mr. Tang possesses extensive experience handling shareholder and joint venture disputes, bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings, as well as urgent asset tracing and injunction applications. Furthermore, he regularly advises clients on regulatory investigations involving authorities such as the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA), and the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC). As a solicitor advocate with full rights of audience in Hong Kong civil courts, he frequently appears as an advocate before tribunals in both English- and Mandarin-language arbitrations.
