The global law firm Jones Day recently announced that Bo Huang (黄博) has joined the firm as Of Counsel in its Global Disputes practice based in the Hong Kong office.
Mr. Huang brings more than 15 years of experience in complex cross-border disputes, regulatory enforcement, and investigations across the United States, Hong Kong, and mainland China. He has led large-scale enforcement investigations involving the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). His track record includes a significant U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) investigation regarding the sales practices of a major US technology company in China. He has also successfully resolved multiple SEC enforcement matters involving public company M&A transactions and senior management trading activity.
In Hong Kong, Mr. Huang has defended leading international and Chinese financial institutions in enforcement actions by the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA). He advises listed companies through complex suspension and resumption processes and represents clients in high-value commercial disputes before the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) and the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA).
Prior to joining Jones Day, Mr. Huang practiced at the Hong Kong office of Davis Polk & Wardwell for nearly 15 years where he was promoted to Counsel in January 2022. Earlier in his career, he served as a legal consultant at the Beijing office of O'Melveny & Myers.
Mr. Huang is admitted to practice in New York and Hong Kong. He received his J.D. with honors from the University of Chicago Law School and his LL.B. from Tsinghua University.
