Sidley recently announced that life sciences transactions expert Jiqiang (JQ) Lin (林继强) has joined its New York office as a partner in the Global Life Sciences practice. Prior to joining Sidley, Mr. Lin served as Special Counsel at Cooley.
Mr. Lin primarily represents public and private pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and other life sciences companies in complex intellectual property-driven commercial transactions. His domestic and cross-border practice focuses on strategic collaborations, licensing arrangements, and other transactions supporting the development and commercialization of innovative therapies and technologies. He also advises clients on research and development, manufacturing and supply, commercialization and distribution agreements, alongside the intellectual property and commercial aspects of M&A, public offerings, and other strategic investments.
Mr. Lin holds a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Peking University, as well as a Ph.D. in Molecular Oncology and Immunology and a J.D. from New York University. Earlier in his career, he practiced at Latham & Watkins.

Sharon Flanagan, leader of the Global Life Sciences practice, added that the arrival of Mr. Lin enhances the firm's ability to counsel clients on complex transactions involving cutting-edge therapeutic platforms, biologics, immunology, oncology, gene therapy, and other advanced technologies.
The addition of Mr. Lin continues Sidley's strategic investment in its market-leading life sciences transactions practice. Over the past year, the firm has consistently expanded its capabilities across key innovation hubs by recruiting partners such as Lila Hope and Jennifer Raab in Palo Alto, emerging companies and venture capital partners Jason Kropp, Craig Hilts, Michael Rohr, and Rosemary Reilly in Boston, Mayan Katz in New York, Taylor Stevens in San Diego, and corporate and securities partner Steven Przesmicki in San Diego.
