Focusing her practice on intellectual property and competition law matters, Ms. Yu possesses extensive hands-on experience in IP transactions, global IP portfolio planning and prosecution, patent infringement litigation and risk assessment, trade secret protection system construction, the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements, and open-source compliance governance. Backed by solid technical expertise and legal proficiency, she fully grasps the business models and technical characteristics of diverse industries. Her industry expertise spans the internet, artificial intelligence, robotics, medical devices, cloud computing, biopharmaceuticals, semiconductors, and the automotive sectors.
Ms. Yu excels at identifying legal risks amid sophisticated commercial scenarios and delivering pragmatic, business-aligned legal solutions. In dispute resolution, her practice covers patent invalidation proceedings and supporting administrative litigation, software copyright infringement, trade secret misappropriation, and unfair competition claims. She is highly adept at distilling core legal issues from highly intricate cases to secure favorable judgments or commercially advantageous settlement terms for clients. Furthermore, she maintains thorough knowledge of IP regulatory frameworks across key jurisdictions including China, Europe, the United States, Japan, South Korea, and Southeast Asia, demonstrating a proven track record of managing complex cross-border IP matters governed by multiple legal regimes.
Bringing over ten years of experience in IP and technology legal services, Ms. Yu previously worked at the CCPIT Patent and Trademark Law Office for over four years handling foreign-related patent prosecution. She subsequently joined the Shanghai office of Han Kun Law Offices, where she managed and led patent prosecution, reexamination, and invalidation proceedings for multinational corporations and tech giants such as Apple, BMW, Baidu, Hitachi Energy, and CATL. Prior to her recent return, she practiced at Commerce & Finance Law Offices and Lifeng Partners.
With a strong academic foundation crossing engineering and law, Ms. Yu holds dual Master's degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Automation from Tongji University and Ruhr University Bochum in Germany.
