Fangda Partners recently announced the addition of Shihai Zhang (张士海), who officially joins the firm as a partner in the Compliance and Government Regulation practice group. The arrival of Mr. Zhang will further deepen Fangda's professional service capabilities in government enforcement and investigations, anti-commercial bribery, anti-unfair competition, advertising compliance, food safety, product quality and recalls, and consumer rights protection.
As a veteran lawyer in compliance and government enforcement, Mr. Zhang has long provided compliance advisory services to multinational corporations and Chinese enterprises, representing clients in complex government investigations. He possesses extensive experience in anti-commercial bribery, anti-unfair competition, advertising compliance, food safety, consumer rights protection, and product quality and recalls. By combining his deep understanding of regulatory enforcement logic with the practical operational needs of businesses, he consistently delivers pragmatic and actionable solutions for his clients.
Before transitioning to full-time private practice, Mr. Zhang served as an enforcement official at the Shanghai Administration for Industry and Commerce, which is now the Shanghai Municipal Administration for Market Regulation, for five years. After entering the legal profession, he served as a partner at Yingke Law Firm and subsequently at Boss & Young Attorneys at Law in Shanghai. Earlier in his career, he worked as a part-time lawyer at Chongqing Xueyuan Law Firm from 2005 to 2007.
Mr. Zhang graduated from Southwest University of Political Science & Law and is qualified to practice law in the PRC.
