Jingtian & Gongcheng recently announced the addition of three new partners across its Chongqing, Guangzhou, and Shanghai offices. This strategic expansion aims to further strengthen the firm's regional service capabilities in core areas such as domestic capital markets, data and AI compliance, and commercial dispute resolution.
In the Chongqing office, veteran capital markets lawyer Jun Liao (廖俊) joins as a partner. Mr.Jun brings 18 years of experience in domestic and overseas capital markets and M&A restructuring. His practice covers securities issuance, private equity funds, and corporate restructuring. He has led IPO projects for numerous enterprises, including Chongqing Rural Commercial Bank and Zhifei Biological, across the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, Shanghai Stock Exchange, and Shenzhen Stock Exchange. He has also represented Fortune 500 companies such as Lear Corporation and domestic listed companies in acquisitions of control and major asset restructuring transactions. Prior to this move, he was a partner at DeHeng Law Offices in Chongqing.
The Guangzhou office welcomes Keni Cheng (程珂昵), an expert in cybersecurity, data security, and the sports and entertainment sectors. Ms.Cheng is deeply involved in data and AI compliance regulation within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and served as a primary drafter for local standards such as the Guangzhou Cybersecurity and Data Security Management Guidelines. Her clientele spans the telecommunications, finance, and digital technology industries. Before joining Jingtian & Gongcheng, she served as a senior partner at Advance Law Firm.
The Shanghai office brings in Peitao Gu (谷培涛), an expert in commercial litigation and non-performing asset disposal. Mr.Gu previously practiced at Shanghai Guoshi Law Firm. Before transitioning to private practice, he served within the Shanghai court system for 12 years. His team focuses heavily on financial and securities commercial dispute resolution, the enforcement of favorable judgments, and non-performing asset disposal. His clients include listed companies as well as central and local state-owned enterprises across the artificial intelligence, semiconductor, and aerospace sectors.
Jingtian & Gongcheng noted in an official statement that the arrival of these three partners will help the firm further deepen its professional expertise. This expansion will enable the firm to provide clients in the Southwest, South, and East China regions with highly tailored legal support that closely aligns with local market needs.
